All wonderfully done. Love this movie. One question, though. What do the heroes do with the gold? That could have been a sequel.Johnhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11654733143289154960noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1003345269984484749.post-46514555533342876092011-02-06T16:15:05.634-05:002011-02-06T16:15:05.634-05:00@Matthew: Thanks for stopping by, and for the comm...@Matthew: Thanks for stopping by, and for the comment!

I LOVE this movie too! Rickles is great, but Sutherland's Oddball will always be my favorite character ("Enough with those negative waves, Moriarty"). Carroll O'Conner is also pretty funny in his limited role.

And that's really interesting about ANIMAL HOUSE. I knew John Landis had worked as an assistant on this film, but I never made that connection. Great stuff...thanks for that!DVD Infatuationhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02986606131886453883noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1003345269984484749.post-79496363402239485572011-02-06T15:39:15.517-05:002011-02-06T15:39:15.517-05:00Love this movie. The opening sequence where Eastwood rolls into town behind enemy lines and takes a German Officer, pure bravado! Kelly's Heroes, is also indirectly responsible for Animal House...

I have it on good authority that John Landis was an assistant director on this, meeting Oddball himself, Donald Sutherland. Which led to a favor being called in so that when Landis directed Animal House, Donald Sutherland appears in that, his part being filmed over the course of 2 days! And that's one to grow on!Matt Dowlinghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12891735215652232995noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1003345269984484749.post-77744777469991478572011-01-08T17:25:27.227-05:002011-01-08T17:25:27.227-05:00@Klaus: I'd be very surprised if you're di...@Klaus: I'd be very surprised if you're disappointed. One of these days i'm going to purchase a copy on DVD/Blu Ray. It's been some time since i've seen it - I hope i'm not disappointed with it (as one tends to be with movies that we thought were great years ago).Klaushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05006608076041962884noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1003345269984484749.post-55659207233572675252011-01-06T16:22:32.291-05:002011-01-06T16:22:32.291-05:00Hey Fred!
